ENERGY INTENSITY DETERMINANT IN INDONESIA: A PANEL DATA ANALYSIS
Abstract
Studi ini menginvestigasi peran PDRB per kapita, keterbukaan perdagangan, proporsi sektor industri, kepadatan penduduk, dan FDI per kapita terhadap intensitas energi di Indonesia. Analisis data panel digunakan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dari variabel-variabel tersebut terhadap intensitas energi pada 33 provinsi di Indonesia sepanjang tahun 2008-2015. Hasil dari studi ini menunjukkan bahwa intensitas energi pada level provinsi di Indonesia sangat ditentukan oleh aktivitas ekonomi daerah. Peran sektor industri dalam memengaruhi intensitas energi cukup dominan, didukung oleh temuan pada variabel keterbukaan perdagangan dan FDI per kapita. Oleh karena itu, kebijakan dalam bidang industri akan sangat memengaruhi tercapainya target Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral dalam menurunkan 1% intensitas energi per tahun.
